This pendant consists of an oval of genuine quality Black Onyx and overlaid a Griffin to create this superb Griffin pendant. We mounted it to a closed back sterling silver encasement. We also covered it in 5 microns of 18 k gold plate. An interesting and impressive heraldic Black Onyx Griffin pendant.

Our Griffin is a creature from the ancient history of Persia. According to legend it had the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle and also an eagle’s talons for its front feet. It therefore combines the features of the king of the animals and the king of the birds. It is a symbol of power.

The oval measures 22 x 18 mm (7/8 x 11/16 inch).
